* The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is an international organization working in the field of nature conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. The IUCN Red List is an inventory of the global conservation status and extinction risk of biological species. It divides species into ten categories: Not Evaluated (NE), Not Applicable (NA), Data Deficient (DD), Least Concern (LC), Near-Threatened (NT), Vulnerable (VU), Endangered (EN), Critically Endangered (CR), Extinct in the Wild (EW) and Extinct (EX).

** NatureServe is a non-profit organization that provides proprietary wildlife conservation-related data, tools, and services to private and government clients, partner organizations, and the public. It divides species into ten categories: Not Applicable (GNA), Unranked (GNR), Unrankable (GU), Secure (G5), Apparently Secure (G4), Vulnerable (G3), Imperiled (G2), Critically Imperiled (G1), Possibly Extinct (GH) and Presumed Extinct (GX).
